Australian Brandenburg Orchestra And Choir Return With Noël! Noël!
The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra returns for its popular seasonal Noël! Noël! concerts with the acclaimed Brandenburg Choir. This year will see a sumptuous selection of musical delights feature in a special 30th Anniversary program curated by Artistic Director Paul Dyer from the most memorable and lauded Noël! Noël! concerts in the company’s rich history.
Performing a selection of arias by Handel and Mendelsohn is Morgan Balfour, a particularly talented young singer whom Paul believes is one of the outstanding voices of her generation. Morgan will take centre stage as soloist, joining an enviable line of young sopranos whose early careers featured an appearance at Noël! Noël! including singers like Sara Macliver and Taryn Fiebig, who have progressed to major careers.
One of the most popular Brandenburg traditions, Noël! Noël! touches on the religious but is firmly grounded in the spiritual. Audiences love to hear the Brandenburg performing O Come All Ye Faithful and Stille Nacht, but Paul Dyer always includes music that moves people of all faiths and beliefs. Music will include Christmas favourites Stille Nacht, Deck the Halls, O Come All Ye Faithful, Ding! Dong! Merrily on High, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, O Holy Night (Adolphe Adam), alongside exquisite orchestral and choral music including Eternal Source of Light (Handel), Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion (Handel), Kyrie (Palestrina), A Sparkling Christmas (Palmer), La Foila (Vivaldi).
